Hawks explode for 13-2 win over Parkside Rangers

Thomas Cargile shut down Parkside on one hit over four innings.
Box Score Eleven players collected hits to power Rockhurst to a 13-2 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside Tuesday night at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas.

The win snapped a four-game losing for the Hawks, who finished with 13 hits and seven extra-base hits.

Rockhurst jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning. Tim Mahoney tripled home the first run. Wylson Lamb followed with a run-scoring double and Brett Marr added an RBI single.

David Stober hit a three-run double in the third and Mitch Stickney wrapped up the scoring with a grand slam over the left-field fence in the fifth.

Marr led the Hawks with two hits and two RBIs. Thomas Cargile (2-0) held the Rangers scoreless over the first four innings while only allowing one hit and striking out five.

The Hawks (9-12) will open conference play at William Jewell on Friday afternoon.
