Second-half run carries McKendree past Hawks

Box Score McKendree scored eight unanswered goals in the second half in pulling away for an 18-10 victory over Rockhurst Saturday in Lebanon, Illinois.

Rockhurst went into halftime tied at 7-7 after leading most of the first half. McKendree scored the first two goals of the second half. Tessa Boots scored for the Hawks to make it 9-8. Rockhurst went scoreless over the next 21 minutes during McKendree's 8-0 run.

Hannah Weisbrod scored four goals to power the Rockhurst offense. Madison Naes posted three goals. Boots tallied two goals. Tierney Buschbacher added one goal, one assist and four ground balls.

The Bearcats outshot Rockhurst 41-29. Boots paced the Hawks with seven shots. Weisbrod and Shayna Stevens each collected five shots. Kathy Perkins posted 14 saves for Rockhurst.

The Hawks (1-2) host Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday, March 5.
