Box Score Rockhurst made two clutch shots down the stretch while holding Central Missouri scoreless over the final two minutes to post a 74-66 victory over the Mules Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.
Connor Evans, who led Rockhurst with 16 points, hit a 15-foot jumper with the shot clock running out to give the Hawks a 70-66 lead with 1:41 left.
Kaleb Warner's jumper with 34 seconds remaining gave Rockhurst a 72-66 lead.
The Hawks (7-4) made 11 3-pointers and connected on 19-of-22 free throws to defeat Central Missouri for the first time since 2007 and end a five-game losing streak against the Mules.

Drew Diener. "We showed great toughness during the second half to finish with the win. Things were not going well there for a while, but we kept our poise and stayed together."
Andrew Ellwanger came off the bench to score 14 points behind four 3-point shots. Warner posted 13 points and seven rebounds.
Travis House tallied 12 points on four 3-pointers.
Malachi Nix added 11 points and seven assists.
Rockhurst shot 45.8 percent from the field (22 of 48) and 39.3 percent on 3-point field goals (11 of 28). Central Missouri made 24-of-48 field goals (50.0 percent), two-of-13 3-point field goals (15.4 percent) and 16-of-30 free throws (53.3 percent). Marquiez Lawrence led the Mules with 21 points.
"We played very unselfish offensively and took great care of the ball; we are starting to get better. It was a great way to finish off the non-conference season," added Diener.
The Hawks return to conference action at Bellarmine on Thursday, January 5.
