The Rockhurst Hawks (3-2) host the Truman State Bulldogs (5-1) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both teams today at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs won their last meeting, 84-74, at Rockhurst last season. Truman State leads the all-time series, 22-14.

The Hawks are coming off a 69-66 victory at home over Newman last Saturday. Rockhurst went on a 10-0 run, capped by a layup fromÂ
Connor Evans, to tie the score at 53-53 with 9:53 left to play. The Hawks closed the game on a 12-4 run to win its third home game of the season.
Malachi Nix led Rockhurst with 20 points, five rebounds and three steals. Evans collected 14 points, four rebounds and four steals.Â
Mason Loewen finished with 12 points and six rebounds.Â
Undra Wilson added 11 points.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 72-71 victory at Lincoln last Saturday. Sophomore guard Jake Velky led Truman State with 26 points. Senior guard Dwight Sistrunk, Jr. tallied 10 points and seven assists. Sistrunk formerly played at William Jewell College. Velky ranks 10th in the GLVC in scoring (17.5). Senior forward Connor Erickson stands 15th in rebounding (6.5) in the GLVC. Senior guard Cory Myers ranks sixth in assists (6.5) in the GLVC.
