Box Score A 16-0 run to open the second half led Truman State to a 72-58 victory over Rockhurst Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.
Truman State went from a 35-30 halftime lead to a 51-30 lead with more than 13 minutes left in the game. Rockhurst missed its first seven shots of the second half.
"We defended the three-point line well, but again were killed on the glass,"Â said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener, whose Hawks' small lineup was outrebounded 45-31. "We just have to get better in the area."
Travis House led the Hawks with 15 points on five three-point field goals. Malachi Nix posted 12 points and three steals. Will Hrubes came off the bench to score 12 points. Gabe Brown collected eight points, six rebounds and three steals. Connor Evans added eight rebounds.
Rockhurst shot 36.8 percent from the field (21 of 57) and 30.3 percent on three-pointers (10 of 33). Truman State finished with a 45.3 field goal percentage (29 of 64).
The Hawks (3-3, 0-1 GLVC) will host Quincy on Saturday, (December 3).
