Box Score Four players scored in double figures to lead red-hot shooting Washburn to a 93-72 victory over Rockhurst Saturday at Lee Arena in Topeka, Kan.
The Ichabods made 65.4 percent of their field goals in the second half after leading 43-38 at halftime. Six of their 17 field goals were three-pointers in the final 20 minutes.
"Washburn really shot the ball well,"Â said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "We didn't believe that was a strength of theirs coming in; however, our transition defense was very poor which assisted in their outburst."
Rockhurst shot 45.6 percent from the field (26 of 57) and 34.6 percent on three-point shots (nine of 26). Washburn finished with a 57.4 field goal percentage (35 of 61) and 63.2 three-point field goal percentage (12 of 19).
Kaleb Warner led the Hawks with 26 points and six rebounds. Warner made eight-of-15 field goals, while hitting three-of-nine three-point shots. Malachi Nix posted 14 points and five rebounds. Undra Wilson added nine points off the bench.
The Hawks (2-1) play at Missouri Southern on Tuesday (Nov. 22).
