Box Score Adam Fatkin came off the bench to score a season-high 18 points to lead Rockhurst to a 72-59 victory over Maryville Thursday night in St. Louis.
Fatkin connected on eight-of-nine shots from the field in 29 minutes. The junior forward made his first eight shots before missing his only shot of the night with 2:15 left in the game. He also collected five rebounds.
"We made some big plays tonight," said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "Our bench was really good tonight. I thought we had a real good mentality going in. Their changing defense is tough to go against. I thought we stayed poised and aggressive. Great win."
Dominique Washington posted his second double-double of the season. The senior center finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. John Burke collected 13 points and five rebounds. Austin LeVan scored 13 points in a reserve role. Malachi Nix totaled a season-high 10 assists and three steals. Alex Hagan added eight rebounds.
Rockhurst shot 46.0 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from the foul line. The Hawks won the rebound battle, 42-30.
Maryville shot 43.4 from the field and 57.1 percent at the foul line. Forrester Sims paced the Saints with 23 points and nine rebounds.
The Hawks, 10-8 and 5-5 in the GLVC, play at Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday (January 30).
