The Rockhurst Hawks (6-6, 1-3 GLVC) meet the Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars (6-8, 0-4 GLVC) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (January 14) in Springfield, Illinois. The Prairie Stars won their last meeting, 81-67, at Springfield on Feb. 14, 2015. Illinois Springfield leads the all-time series, 5-3.
"Springfield has played a tough schedule," said Rockhurst coach
Drew Diener. "They can really score. After an 0-2 week last week, we need to bring great desperation for a W."

Malachi Nix stands 20th in scoring (13.3), first in assists (5.75) and ninth in steals (1.75) in the GLVC. Sophomore forward
Alex Hagan ranks first in field goal percentage (65.2) and 17th in rebounding (5.7) in the GLVC. Junior forward
Adam Fatkin stands 12th in field goal percentage (56.0) in the GLVC. The Hawks lead the GLVC in 3-point field goal percentage defense (27.2), and rank second in scoring defense and third in field goal percentage defense (41.2) in the GLVC.
Bellarmine outscored Rockhurst by 20 points at the foul line to hold off the Hawks for a 72-65 victory Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House. Bellarmine made 28 of 39 free throws, while the Hawks were eight-of-10 at the charity stripe. Washington led the Hawks with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Josh Roberts scored 13 points while hitting three 3-point shots. Nix posted seven points, seven assists and four steals. Rockhurst shot 38.1 percent from the field (24 of 63).Â
