Box Score David Stober came through at the plate and
Andrew Ellwanger was dominant on the mound to lead Rockhurst to an 11-10 victory over Central Missouri Tuesday night in Warrensburg, Mo. The win was the Hawks' first victory at Central Missouri since 2003.
Stober doubled home
Seth Soto for his fourth hit of the night with one out in the 12th inning. Ellwanger (1-2) held the Mules to one run on one hit over the final four innings. He struck out the final two hitters to finish with six strikeouts.
The Hawks jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the fourth inning, but had to rally from two runs down in the ninth. Soto hit a three-run home run with one out in the ninth to give the Hawks a 10-9 lead. The Mules scored on a wild pitch to put the game into extra innings.
Rockhurst scored four runs on two hits in the second to take a 5-2 lead.
Blake Petersen singled home the first run of the inning. The Hawks added single runs in the fourth and sixth.
Caleb Baker and
Brett Marr each collected two hits as Rockhurst finished with 13 hits. Stacks homered in the sixth for his fifth round-tripper of the season.
Rockhurst, 19-23 and 10-16 in the GLVC, will play a four-game series at Drury on Saturday and Sunday.
