Box Score 2 Grant Otte held Missouri-St. Louis to three hits over nine innings to lead Rockhurst to a 3-1 victory over the Tritons in the first game of a doubleheader Friday at Loyola Park. The Hawks dropped the second game, 6-5.
Otte (3-1) shut down the Tritons over the final six innings after giving up a run on one hit in the the third inning. The sophomore left-hander struck out four and walked three.
Calin McCourt singled home a run in the sixth to tie the score.
Matt Stacks hit a two-run double in the seventh to score
Brett Marr and
Caleb Baker. Stacks, Jeremy Luftt and
Blake Petersen led the Hawks with two hits apiece.
In the second game, the Tritons rallied with two outs in the seventh to score two runs with a single and double off Rockhurst starter
Joe Huber. The Hawks took a 5-4 lead in the sixth when Luftt hit a sacrifice fly to center field. Rockhurst scored twice in the fifth on a throwing error by the UMSL pitcher to grab a 4-2 lead.

Jake Jones each collected two hits to lead the 10-hit Rockhurst attack. Huber (5-3) allowed six runs on 12 hits and struck out eight over 6.2 innings.
Rockhurst, 18-23 and 10-16 in the GLVC, will host Missouri-St. Louis another doubleheader on Saturday.
