Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 William Jewell combined for 19 runs and 30 hits in sweeping a doubleheader over Rockhurst Tuesday at Talley Field in Liberty, Mo.

The Cardinals exploded for 16 hits in posting a 10-4 victory in the first game. Jewell scored six runs in the first two innings off Rockhurst starter Michael Lydon-Lorson (5-3). The Hawks crossed the plate three times on four hits in the second inning.

Patrick Burns led Rockhurst with two hits. Tim Mahoney came off the bench to hit a solo home run in the seventh. The Hawks finished with nine hits.

In the second game, Jewell collected 14 hits in a 9-6 win over the Hawks. Calin McCourt, Caleb Baker and Jake Jones combined for six of the Hawks' nine hits. Alex Merithew (3-4) allowed five runs on six hits in 2.0 innings.

Rockhurst, 17-21 and 9-15 in the GLVC, play a single game at Saint Louis Wednesday night.
