Hawks travel to Marshall to face Missouri Valley

The Hawks return to action today as they travel to Marshall, Mo., to face the Missouri Valley College Vikings at 6:00 p.m. The Hawks (3-0) are off to the best start in program history.

Last week the Hawks were able to notch the first WILA conference win in program history defeating CSU-Pueblo 23-6. In the game the Hawks saw stand out performances from freshman attacker Jake Martin (5 goals, 1 assist) and freshman close defender Mike Boehm (7 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers).

The Hawks will take on a familiar foe in today's game. The Hawks and Vikings played twice last season, losing 17-9 in Marshall and later in the season lost 5-4 in overtime at home.

This is the first game of the season for Missouri Valley as last weekend's home opener was cancelled due to inclement weather. The Vikings, like the Hawks, are in their second year as a program and compete in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA). Missouri Valley has been selected as the favorite to repeat as the Division II Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference (GRLC) champions and have been ranked ninth in the MCLA to start the season.

Rockhurst looks to continue their early season success and improve to 4-0 before they travel to Colorado for three straight conference games.

The game will be broadcast live on the Hawks All Access Network. Tune in live to watch live video action here. Follow @RUHawks for live updates.
