Box Score 2 Rockhurst combined for 12 runs and 21 hits in sweeping a doubleheader over Wisconsin-Parkside Friday at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
The Hawks pounded out 13 hits in a 5-3 win in the first game.
Brett Marr and
Caleb Baker led the offense with three hits apiece. Marr scored three runs and Baker drove in two runs.
Calin McCourt and
Jake Jones added two hits, respectively.
Baker collected run-scoring singles in the second and seventh.
Seth Soto had an RBI single in the seventh and Matt Starks added an RBI single in the eighth.
Joe Huber (4-1) held the Rangers to three runs on nine hits over nine innings.
A three-run double by McCourt in the sixth inning led the Hawks to a 7-5 win in the second game. McCourt's hit gave the Hawks a 7-0 lead before Parkside scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Brett Marr led Rockhurst's eight-hit attack with two hits. Marr leads the team with a .500 batting average (35-for-70). Stacks, Baker and
Patrick Burns each drove in a run.
Michael Lydon-Lorson (4-0) allowed five runs on six hits with four strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
Alex Merithew got the last four outs to pick up the Hawks' first save of the season.
Rockhurst, 11-6 and 3-1 in the GLVC, will play another doubleheader at Parkside on Saturday.
