Rockhurst will travel to Kenosha Wis., where the Hawks will take on the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers in their second series in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in 2015. Rockhurst will play doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. Friday's games will begin at 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's games will be at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The Hawks (9-6) are coming off a series split against the Indianapolis Greyhounds. Sophomore shortstop
Brett Marr and senior outfielder
Caleb Baker paced Rockhurst with six hits apiece on the weekend. Marr ended with a .400 batting average while Baker was able to hit .375 against Greyhound pitching.
Sophomore right-handed pitchers
Joe Huber and
Michael Lydon-Lorson were both able to go the distance and earn two complete game wins. Huber gave up one run on seven hits, walked one and struck out six. Lydon-Lorson gave up one run on five hits, walked none and struck out six. Both pitchers tote a sub-three ERA.
Wisconsin-Parkside (2-5) is coming off a series loss where Missouri S&T was able to take three of four games. Through the four games, the Rangers were able to collect 45 hits but did make eight errors on the weekend. In their win, the Rangers smashed 20 hits and also got help from seven Missouri S&T errors.
Leading the hitting attack for Wisconsin-Parkside are outfielder Troy Bittenbender and first basemen DJ Peltz. They are hitting .414 and .385, respectively, on the season. The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 6.00 while holding opposing batters to a .323 batting average.
