Box Score Lewis pulled way in the second half to post an 85-65 victory over Rockhurst Saturday in the Hawks' final home game of the season at Mason-Halpin Field House. The Flyers connected on 58.1 percent of their field goals after intermission.
Rockhurst only trailed by one point late in the first half. Lewis scored the last four points in the first half and opened the second half on a 17-6 run. The Flyers finished with 42 points in the paint and tallied 19 second-chance points while outrebounding the Hawks 45-36.
Kareem Amedu led the Hawks with a season-high 16 points in his final home game.
Liam Duffy posted 10 points and six rebounds.
Russell Burns grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
Dominique Washington added eight points.
Rockhurst shot 34.4 percent from the field (21 of 61) and 65.2 percent from the free-throw line (15 of 23). Lewis connected on 31-of-63 field goals (49.2 percent) and 15-of-23 free throws (65.2 percent). Max Strus paced the Flyers with 16 points.
The Hawks, 6-15 and 2-11 in the GLVC, play at McKendree on Thursday, Feb. 12.
