Drew Diener with a 101-38 victory over Calvary Bible Saturday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks jumped out to a 28-2 lead in the first nine minutes and went into halftime with a 59-24 lead. Rockhurst held the Warriors to 14 points on 20-percent shooting in the second half.

"I was proud that we sustained our energy for 40 minutes," said Diener. "We built on our habits from practice. We took care of the ball and guarded them; that was the goal."

Freshman
Austin LeVan came off bench to lead the Hawks with 20 points while draining six 3-pointers in 14 minutes.
Dominique Washington posted 12 points and four rebounds.

Alex Hagan collected 11 points and six rebounds.
Will Kathrein finished with 11 points and five rebounds.
Joshua Brannon added 10 points (behind three dunk shots), four rebounds and four steals.
Malachi Nix led the team with seven assists.
Rockhurst shot 51.9 percent from the field (40 of 77) and 60.0 percent from the free-throw line (12 of 20). Calvary Bible connected on 10-of-41 field goals (24.4 percent) and 12-of-18 free throws (66.7 percent). Jay Lems paced the Warriors with 12 points.
The Hawks, 1-0, play at Central Missouri on Wednesday night.
