Box Score Truman State shot lights out from beyond the 3-point line in posting an 89-65 victory over Rockhurst on Saturday at the Pershing Arena in Kirksville, Mo.
The Bulldogs connected on 47.2 percent of their 3-pointers (17 of 36). Truman hit eight threes in the first half to take a 43-27 halftime lead. In the second half, 27 of Truman's 46 points came via 3-point field goals and led by 33 points with 7:51 left to play.
Russell Burns led the Hawks with 11 points and five rebounds.
Adam Fatkin and
John Burke each finished with eight points.
Dominique Washington collected a team-high seven rebounds.
Rockhurst shot 41.0 percent from the field (25 of 61) and 52.9 percent from the free-throw line (9 of 17). Truman connected on 33-of-66 field goals (50.0 percent) and 6-of-6 free throws.
The Hawks, 5-12 and 1-8 in the GLVC, return home to host Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday, Jan. 29.
