Box Score Missouri S&T scored an unearned run in the third inning to defeat Rockhurst 1-0 in the first game of a conference doubleheader Sunday in Rolla, Mo. The second game was rained out and will be played on Monday at 3 p.m.

The Hawks, 13-20 and 11-10 in the GLVC, were held to six singles over seven innings. Rockhurst threatened to tie the score in the seventh inning with a runner on second base with no outs. The rally was cut short when the Miners' catcher threw out pinch runner Patrick Burns attempting to steal third base.

Rockhurst stranded two runners in both the fourth and seventh. Freshman Michael Lydon-Lorson (1-2) allowed six hits and walked one in six innings.
