Box Score The Augustana (S.D.) Vikings spoiled Rockhurst's home opener by outscoring the Hawks 9-6 Wednesday at RU's Loyola Park.

Augustana jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the fourth inning while pounding out nine of its 13 hits. The Hawks scored three runs in the eighth to pull within three runs of the Vikings.

Josh Dennett led the Hawks with two hits and two RBIs. Dennett doubled home a run in the first and added a run-scoring single in the eighth. Stu Jeck, who doubled in the eighth, went 2-for-4. Brett Marr added a two-run double in the eighth. Starting pitcher Trenton Perry suffered his first loss of the season.

Rockhurst (0-6) opens conference play at McKendree on Saturday at 12 p.m.
