Box Score Emporia State drained 13 3-point field goals while shooting 58 percent from the field in defeating Rockhurst 92-63 Saturday at ESU's White Auditorium.
The Hornets outscored Rockhurst 54-36 in the second half while making 10-of-14 3-point field goals. ESU guard Jay Temaat scored 15 of game-high 21 points in the second half as he hit seven 3-point field goals.
Junior guard
Josh Roberts led the Hawks with 13 points.
Russell Burns and
John Burke each finished with 10 points.
Liam Duffy added nine points on three 3-pointers.
The Hawks shot 38.2 percent from the field (21 of 55) and sank 14-of-19 free throws (73.7 percent). Rockhurst (3-4) will host Washburn on Saturday.
