Box Score Josh Roberts hit a pair of free throws with five seconds left to lift Rockhurst to a 48-47 victory over Washburn Saturday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.

A jump shot by Russell Burns with 29 seconds left gave the Hawks a 46-44 lead. Washburn's Alex North missed a 3-point shot with 11 seconds left. After Roberts made his two foul shots, Washburn hit a 3-pointer in the closing seconds.

Rockhurst led by 10 points, 21-11, in the first half before going into halftime tied at 25-all. The Hawks opened the second half on an 11-2 run to take a 36-27 lead.

Adam Fatkin led the Hawks with eight points, nine rebounds and six blocks. Roberts and John Burke each finished with eight points and four rebounds. Burns added six points, six rebounds and three assists.

The Hawks shot 32.7 percent from the field (17 of 52) and sank seven-of-10 free throws (70.0 percent). Rockhurst (4-4) will play at Avila on Tuesday.
