Box Score 2 MIssouri-St. Louis held off Rockhurst to post a 4-2 victory in the second game of a doubleheader Sunday at RU's Loyola Park to complete a four-game sweep of the Hawks.
The Tritons jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the third inning off Rockhurst starter
Nick Lichtenberger.
Caleb Baker walked with the bases loaded in the fifth and
Jordan Eckley cut UMSL's lead to 3-2 with a run-scoring double in the sixth. The Hawks finished with 11 hits while stranding 13 runners.
Patrick Chandler led the Hawks with three hits. Eckley,
Josh Dennett and
Jordan Stull each had two hits. Lichtenberger, 0-1, allowed five hits and three runs over four innings.
Josh Samuelson held UMSL to five hits and one run over the final five innings.
In the first game, the Tritons posted 15 hits, including seven doubles, off four Rockhurst pitchers.
Anthony Davis collected two of the Hawks' seven hits.
Thomas Woodard, 5-3, allowed six hits and five runs over two-plus innings.
The Hawks (16-20, 11-17 GLVC) play a four-game series at Drury, April 27-28.
