Box Score Freshman third baseman Jordan Eckley singled home the winning run in the top of the ninth inning to lead Rockhurst to a 2-1 victory over Walsh on Thursday in Clearwater, Fla.

Eckley singled home Caleb Baker from second base with two outs to break a 1-1 tie. Baker hit a one-out single and stole second base. The Hawks scored their first run in the eighth on a run-scoring single by Anthony Davis after Walsh took a 1-0 lead in the seventh.

Thomas Woodard held Walsh to two hits over seven innings to post his first win of the season. Woodard struck out seven and did not issue any walks. Trenton Perry retired the side in order in the eighth inning.  Josh Samuelson closed out the ninth to pick up his second save of the season.

The Hawks (4-2) close out their Florida trip against Cedarville on Saturday.
