Box Score Anthony Davis collected four hits and Josh Dennett drove in five runs to lead Rockhurst to a 17-8 victory over Washburn on Wednesday in Topeka, Kan. The Hawks finished with 21 hits, including eight extra-base hits.

Rockhurst jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the third inning. Washburn scored all eight of its runs in the third to pull within two runs of the Hawks. Rockhurst added four runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth.

Patrick Chandler posted three hits and three RBIs. Tyler Gans added three hits and drove in a run. Brandon Tangney and Dennett both had two hits. Alex Seier pitched four innings in relief to improve his season record to 4-0. Josh Samuelson threw the final three innings to earn his fifth save of the season.

The Hawks (7-5, 2-2 GLVC) return to conference play on Friday and Saturday at Bellarmine. The games were moved up one day due to the weather forecast.
