The Rockhurst women's tennis team suffered their first loss of the season, falling by a 7-2 team score at Newman on Friday in Wichita, Kan.

Alex Schelble and Kim de Groot picked up the two points for Rockhurst. Schelble won in No. 3 singles, 6-2 and 7-5, over Newman's Courtney Dold. The No. 5 singles match was won by de Groot over Newman's Carissa Villaflor, 6-0 and 6-4.

The Hawks (1-1) play at Friends on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 10:00 a.m.
