Second half rally leads Hawks past Lincoln, 95-93

Brandon McCann scored 30 points to lead the Hawks to a 95-93 win at Lincoln.
Box Score Russell Burns knocked home two free throws with three seconds left to give Rockhurst a 95-93 victory over Lincoln Wednesday night in Jefferson City, Mo. 

Brandon McCann and Burns combined for 35 points in the second half as Rockhurst outscored Lincoln 63-50 over the final 20 minutes. The Hawks made 67.9 percent of their field goals (19 of 28) in the second half to rally from a 43-32 halftime deficit.

McCann led Rockhurst with a career-high 30 points, including 23 in the second half. The senior guard hit nine-of-14 shots from the field and nine-of-10 at the free-three line. Burns scored 12 of his 14 points in the second half. He also had a team-high eight rebounds.

The Hawks' bench outscored Lincoln 39-30. Andrew Ellwanger scored 10 points and Liam Duffy drained three three-pointers for nine points. Rockhurst also made 25 of 28 free throws for 89.3 percent.

Rockhurst, 1-1, returns home to host Haskell on Saturday at 2 p.m.
