Maryville held off a Rockhurst rally over the final six minutes by sinking four free throws in the final 16 seconds to edge Rockhurst 62-57 Saturday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks went on a 12-4 run to pull with one point, 58-57, with 22 seconds to play. James Robinson scored eight points in the run on a pair of 3-point shots and a layup. Robinson missed a game-tying 3-pointer from the right corner with three seconds left.

Brandon McCann scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Hawks. He now leads the team with a 12.8 scoring averaged. Robinson finished with 11 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. David Wingerson posted eight points and four rebounds Brett Hornung added seven points, six rebounds and four assists.

Maryville, 15-4, outrebounded Rockhurst, 34-30. The Hawks, 1-12 and 0-6 in the GLVC, play at William Jewell on Monday at 3 p.m.
