Rockhurst Women's Volleyball travels to the Fairfield Inn Griffon Invitational this weekend in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Hawks take on No. 10 Southwest Minnesota State on Friday at 11:30 a.m. before facing Northern State (1:30 p.m.) and No. 11 Missouri Western (6:30 p.m.) on Saturday.

RU began the season last weekend at CSM Oredigger Classic in Golden, Colorado. The Hawks split their two matches on Aug. 28 when they fell to UC-Colorado Springs in five sets but bounced back with a win over CSU Dominguez Hills in four sets. 

Rockhurst dropped a pair of matches on Aug. 29 against Flagler in five sets and Colorado School of Mines in four sets. 

Ali Olson (47), Alyssa McDonald (46) and Delaney Hope (43) each recorded 40 or more kills. Olsen (17) and Hope (15) also combined for 32 blocks.

Molly Trachta tallied 100 assists and seven service aces while Kaitlyn Dumpit recorded 85 assists. Abby Boyd notched 40 digs and Carlie Pandjaris tallied 33.

Southwest Minnesota State (3-0) won all their matchups at the West Florida Invitational in three sets. The Mustangs picked up wins against Wheeling and Spring Hill (Ala.) on Aug. 28 and Wheeling a second time on Aug. 29.

RU is 3-2 against the Mustangs overall. Southwest Missouri State has won the last two, including the most recent contest in four sets on Sept. 13, 2024.

Northern State (3-1) played in the CSM Oredigger Classic with Rockhurst, defeating Flagler in three sets and Colorado Springs in four sets on Aug. 28. The Wolves split their two matches on Aug. 29 by winning in three sets over CSU Dominguez Hills and lost in five sets to Colorado Christian.

Rockhurst holds an overall record of 2-1 against Northern State. The last meeting was on Sept. 3, 2021, when the Wolves won in four sets.

At the Bahama House Classic, Missouri Western (4-0) won in three sets against St. Edward's and in four sets vs. Embry-Riddle on Aug. 28. The Griffons finished the weekend with wins over Florida Southern in three sets and Florida Tech in four sets on Aug. 29.

The Griffons lead the all-time series 23-19 over the Hawks, but Rockhurst has won the last seven contests. RU won the last matchup in three sets on Sept. 20, 2025.
