Hawks Set to Face Ohio Dominican in Crossover Opener

The 18th annual Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament, the nation's largest collegiate volleyball event at one venue, will be held in Hammond, Ind., at the Hammond SportsPlex on Oct. 16-17, 2026. The regional volleyball event will feature 37 NCAA Division II Midwest Region programs. The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) will be represented by 14 teams, Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) by 12 squads, and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Association (GLIAC) will bring 11.

Rockhurst (12-6, 6-1 GLVC) is the No. 3 seed from the GLVC. The Hawks begin this year's Crossover by facing Ohio Dominican (15-5, 7-3 G-MAC), the No. 2 seed in the G-MAC, at 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Friday morning's matchup is just the second-ever contest between the Hawks and the Panthers. Rockhurst won the inaugural matchup in three sets during the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Rockhurst faces Saginaw Valley State (13-6 6-4 GLIAC), the No. 6 seed in the GLIAC at 4:30 p.m. Friday. This will be the fourth matchup between the two teams and the first since 2018. Rockhurst won the most recent matchup in three sets at the Midwest Region Crossover on Oct. 12, 2018.

Live stats will be provided for all courts, while every match will also be live streamed through BallerTV. Links to both coverage options can be found on the tournament website.

Saturday's action gets underway at 9 a.m. with additional sessions slated for 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. to wrap up the tournament. Nine of the matches on Saturday will be determined by results from Friday's competition and updated on the website Friday evening after the last session.

At the conclusion, the Midwest Region Crossover All-Tournament Team will be announced.
