Walk-off single gives Hawks an 11-10 win

Braeden Barbee hit a walk-off two-run single in the seventh inning to give Rockhurst an 11-10 victory over William Jewell in the second game of a Friday doubleheader at Loyola Park.

The Hawks (29-18, 17-14 GLVC) close out the regular season with a single game against Jewell at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Rockhurst scored five runs in the fourth to take a 9-6 lead. Jewell rallied to score three runs in the sixth to take a 10-9 lead.

Colton Wemhoff led the Hawks with two hits and two RBI. Michael Laudando singled home two runs in the fourth. Dakota Hanna drove in two runs, including an RBI triple in the third.

Laudando (2-0) held Jewell scoreless on two hits with two strikeouts over the final two innings.

Game 1: WJC 7, RU 2

Jewell used a pair of three-run innings to capture the first game of the twinbill. The Cardinals outhit Rockhurst, 9-4.

Avery Garmon led the Hawks with two hits with an RBI single in the sixth. Kaden Jeffries doubled home RU's first run with a double in the fourth.

Brendan Rodis (5-5) allowed four runs on six hits over 6.0 innings.
