Wemhoff homer gives Hawks a 3-2 win at Drury

Colton Wemhoff connected on a solo home run in the ninth inning to give Rockhurst a 3-2 victory over Drury Friday night in Springfield, Missouri.

Wemhoff hit a 2-2 pitch over the fence in right-center with one out for his fifth home run of the season.

Michael Laudando struck out the side while leaving the tying run on third in the bottom of the ninth to record his second save of the season.

The Hawks took a 2-0 lead in the eighth on a two-run pinch hit triple by Braeden Barbee. Wemhoff led off the inning with a single and Dakota Hanna walked to set up Barbee's hit.

Landon Carr shut out the Panthers on one hit over 7.0 innings while striking out six.

Rockhurst (28-13, 16-9 GLVC) will play a doubleheader at Drury on Saturday.
