Hawks win 3-0; extend winning streak to five in a row

Shay Spadaro posted 13 kills, six digs and three service aces to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 win over Jamestown Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks won their fifth match in a row (all in three sets) to continue their longest winning streak of the season.

Rockhurst trailed 24-22 late in the first set, but rallied to tie the set at 24 after kills by Spadaro and Aron DeRoy. The first set was also tied at 25 and 26 before consecutive kills by Quentin Huhman gave the Hawks a 28-26 win.

The Hawks won the second set, 25-18, and the third set, 25-20.

Wesley Yusk and Huhman each collected nine kills. Tyler Zippay collected 31 assists and seven digs.

The Hawks finished with a .284 hitting percentage, 40 kills, 10 service aces, three team blocks, 37 assists and 19 digs.

Rockhurst (9-9, 2-0 GLVC) faces Missouri S&T on Thursday (6 p.m.) and Friday (4 p.m.) in Rolla, Missouri.
