Hawks win in straight sets at Thomas More

Lucas Tran posted 11 kills and Tyler Zippay tallied 30 assists to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 win over Thomas More on Friday in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Hawks have now won three in a row and nine of their last 10.

Rockhurst won the first set, 25-12 and the second set, 25-18. RU won the match with a 25-16 victory in the third set.

Shay Spadaro and Zippay both led the Hawks with two service aces each. Spadaro also had five kills and two assists.

Aron DeRoy had a team-leading four blocks and added eight kills. Ryan Collins (seven) and Tran (six) combined for 13 digs.

Rockhurst finished with 37 kills, seven service aces, nine team blocks, 35 assists and 30 digs. RU as a team hit .350.

The Hawks (13-10, 6-1 GLVC) plays at Thomas More on Saturday at 2 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. CDT.
