Women post 7-0 win over McKendree

The 41st-ranked Rockhurst women's tennis team split two matches on the road last weekend. The Hawks defeated McKendree, 7-0, in Belleville, Illinois on Saturday, and fell to Missouri-St. Louis, 5-2, on Sunday at UMSL.

Ella Coleman won both of her No. 1 matches. She won in two sets at McKendree and defeated UMSL's Hannah Tse when Tse retired in the second set. Coleman went 1-1 in No. 1 doubles with Camila Neyra. Coleman is ranked 19th in D2 singles.

Maria Baez went 2-0 in singles at No. 6, winning both in straight sets. Baez also teamed up with Sofia Valdespino to go 1-1 in their No. 3 doubles matches.

Valdespino, Marina Magai, Zuzanna Szmyd and Camila Neyra won their singles matches at McKendree.

The Hawks (4-2) play at Maryville on Saturday and at Illinois Springfield on Sunday.
