Hawks win in straight sets over Southwest Baptist

Wesley Yusk, Nate Barton and Aron DeRoy combined for 26 kills to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 win over Southwest Baptist on Friday at Mason-Halpin Field House. The Hawks have now won seven of their last eight matches.

Rockhurst won the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-14. The Hawks finished the match with a 25-20 win in the third set.

Yusk led the Hawks with 11 kills and five blocks. Barton posted eight kills and DeRoy had seven kills.

Tyler Zippay recorded a team-leading 36 assists. Ryan Collins led RU with 10 digs.

The Hawks finished with 42 kills, four service aces, seven team blocks, 40 assists and 28 digs. Rockhurst hit .452 as a team.

Rockhurst (11-10, 4-1 GLVC) hosts Southwest Baptist on Saturday at 2 p.m.
