Men fall to Missouri S&T in five sets

Rockhurst Men's Volleyball fell in five sets to Missouri S&T on Friday in Rolla, Missouri, snapping a six-match winning streak.

The Miners took the first set, 25-17, then the Hawks won 25-22 in the second set.

Missouri S&T postded a  25-22 win in the third set before Rockhurst tied the match at two sets each with a 25-18 win in the fourth set. The Miners won 15-13 in the fifth and deciding set.

Shay Spadaro (20), Quentin Huhman (11) and Lucas Tran (10) combined for 41 kills. Spadaro also led Rockhurst with four service aces and added eight digs.

Aron DeRoy had a team-leading three blocks. Tyler Zippay led RU with 40 assists. Zippay (13) and Ryan Collins (12) combined for 25 digs.

The Hawks finished with 53 kills, six service aces, five team blocks, 50 assists and 49 digs.
