Shay Spadaro, Wesley Yusk and Quentin Huhman combined for 22 kills to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 victory over Ottawa Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.
Rockhurst won the first set, 25-20. Spadaro recorded four kills, and Aron DeRoy had four blocks. The Hawks won the second set, 25-18 behind four blocks frorm Yusk and three digs from Will Sutphen.
Rockhurst won the third set 25-13 and the match after back-to-back service aces from Nathan Jacques.
Spadaro led the Hawks with eight kills and added five digs. Yusk tallied seven kills and a team-high seven blocks to lead Rockhurst.
Tyler Zippay (22) and Jacques (12) combined for 32 assists. Huhman had seven kills and was the team leader in digs (seven). Sutphen and Spadaro each had five digs. DeRoy (five) and Huhman (four) combined for nine blocks.
Rockhurst collected 37 kills, eight service aces, 14 team blocks, 36 assists and 26 digs. The Hawks finished with a .387 hitting percentage.
The Hawks (4-7) face No. 9 Lewis on Friday at 7 p.m. in Romeoville, Illinois.
