Park rallies for 3-2 victory over Hawks

The Rockhurst men's volleyball team fell by a 3-2 scored to Park University Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Pirates took the first set, 25-23. Rockhurst tied the match with a 26-24 win in set two after a Shay Spadaro service ace. 

The Hawks took the third set 25-23 on a Quentin Huhman kill with a Tyler Zippay assist. Park won the final two sets, 25-19 and 15-13, to win the match.

Huhman (24) and Spadaro (19) combined for 43 kills. Zippay led Rockhurst in service aces with five and assists with 45. Spadaro had a team-high six blocks.

Aron DeRoy and Wesley Yusk each had five blocks. DeRoy also tallied 10 kills. Trent Massey collected eight digs.

Rockhurst finished with 60 kills, 27 digs, 57 assists, seven service aces, and 11 team blocks.

The Hawks (3-7) face Ottawa on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mason-Halpin Field House.
