No. 23 Hawks extend winning streak with road victory

Five players scored in double figures to lead No. 23 Rockhurst to an 84-72 win over Lincoln Saturday in Jefferson City, Missouri.

The Hawks have now won nine straight games and 13 of their last 14. Rockhurst also remains in first place in the GLVC with a 15-3 conference record.

Rockhurst began the game on an 11-3 run and scored the game's first nine points. The Hawks took a 17-point lead of 32-15 at the 8:46 mark and had a 43-30 lead at the half.

Lincoln cut the Rockhurst lead to 66-61 with a made free-throw at the 7:59 mark. RU went on to lead by six or more the rest of the game in route to the win.

Jaylen Wesley led all scorers with 23 points and finished with eight rebounds, three assists and two steals on 9-of-14 shooting from the field. Drenin Dinkins had 18 points and five rebounds.

Wesley (4-of-4) and Dinkins (9-of-9) shot a perfect 13-of-13 from the free-throw line.

Jack Scott tallied 15 points and two rebounds on 4-of-5 shooting from three. Micah Deaver collected 11 points and five rebounds. Jaden Flournoy scored 10 points with six rebounds, two steals and five assists.

The Hawks shot 52.8 percent (28-of-53) from the field, 38.9 percent (7-of-18) from three and 84 percent (21-of-25) from the free-throw line.
