Rockhurst takes over first place with win at SBU

Drenin Dinkins scored 25 points to lead Rockhurst to a 75-59 win over Southwest Baptist Thursday night in Bolivar, Missouri.

The Hawks extended their season-high winning streak to six in a row and sit alone in first place in the GLVC with a 12-3 conference record.

Rockhurst finished the first half on a 19-4 run to take a 40-21 lead at halftime. Dinkins (14 points), Jaylen Wesley (nine) and Jaden Flournoy (seven) combined for 30 first-half points.
 
A London Burton driving layup gave the Hawks their largest lead of the game at 59-35 with 11:47 left in the game.
 
Wesley tallied 20 points and five rebounds. Flournoy finished with 11 points and three rebounds. Micah Deaver and Dinkins tied for the team lead in rebounds with six each. Deaver also recorded four points and two steals. Dillon Mong had eight points and three rebounds.
 
The Hawks shot 49.1 percent (28-of-57) from the field, 26.1 percent (6-of-23) from the three-point line and 76.5 percent (13-of-17) from the free-throw line.
