Rockhurst Women's Volleyball returns home to host Illinois Springfield on Friday at 6 p.m and Quincy on Saturday at 3 p.m.
RU extended their season-long winning streak to eight with a pair of wins last weekend on the road. Rockhurst won in three sets over Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Missouri on Sept. 25 and in four sets over Drury Sept. 26 in Springfield, Missouri. RU's eight-match winning streak is also the longest active winning streak in the conference for women's volleyball.
Senior outside hitter
Alyssa McDonald was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference/Athletic Solutions Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career, the league office announced Monday (Sept. 28).
The Overland Park, Kansas, native totaled 30 kills across seven sets, averaging 4.29 kills per set while posting a .424 hitting percentage on 59 attacks. McDonald also recorded 33.5 points, averaging 4.79 points per set, and added six blocks.
Ali Olson tallied 10 blocks, six digs and eight kills in last week's action. Olson leads the conference with a .411 hitting percentage and is tied for third in the conference in blocks per set (1.04).
Last weekend, Illinois Springfield (4-10, 1-3 GLVC) won in three sets over McKendree on Sept. 25 and fell in three sets to UMSL on Sept. 26.
Rockhurst is 21-0 against the Peacocks dating back to Oct. 24, 2009. Rockhurst won in four sets during the last matchup on Oct. 11, 2025, in Springfield, Illinois.
Quincy (10-6, 1-3 GLVC) lost in five sets to Missouri-St. Louis on Sept. 25 before winning in four sets over McKendree on Sept. 26. Before facing Rockhurst on Saturday, Quincy faces William Jewell on Friday.
Rockhurst is 29-5 against Quincy dating back to Sept. 8, 2000. Quincy defeated Rockhurst in five sets during the GLVC Tournament Semifinals in Williamsville, Illinois during their last matchup.
