Hawks fall in four sets at No. 18 Lindenwood

The Rockhurst volleyball team fell in four sets to 18th-ranked Lindenwood Friday night in St. Charles, Missouri.

The Hawks won the first set, 26-24. Rockhurst rallied from a 24-23 deficit to score the last three points of the set. Shay Spadaro and Will Sutphen combined for seven kills.

The Lions evened the match with a 25-14 win in the second set and took a 2-1 lead with a 25-19 victory in the third set. Lindenwood (5-1) ended the match on a 15-6 run to win the fourth set, 25-20.

Spadaro led the Hawks with 11.5 points, 11 kills and five digs. Wesley Yusk posted six kills and a .625 hitting percentage.

Sutphen and Lucas Tran combined for 10 kills, 10 digs and four service aces. Nathan Jacques tallied 28 assists, two kills and two blocks.

Rockhurst (3-5) faces 11th-ranked McKendree (4-3) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Lebanon, Illinois.
