Second-half run carries Rockhurst past Quincy

Drenin Dinkins tallied 26 points and seven rebounds to lead Rockhurst to an 82-69 victory over Quincy Thursday night in Quincy, Illinois.

Jaylen Wesley collected 19 points, four rebounds and two steals. Micah Deaver recorded 13 points, four rebounds and three assists. Dillon Mong finished with 13 points and four rebounds.

Jaden Flournoy scored nine points and led Rockhurst with eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.

After Rockhurst took a 24-23 lead with 5:31 left in the first half, RU went on a 12-5 run to go up 36-28 at the 2:14 mark on the way to a 38-35 halftime lead. Dinkins (12), Wesley (nine) and Deaver (eight) combined for 29 first-half points.

RU started the second half on a 22-8 run to take a 60-43 lead at the 10:33 mark. Their largest lead of the game was at 80-62 with 3:27 left.

Rockhurst shot 51.7 percent (31-of-60) from the field and 55 percent (11-of-20) from the three-point line. RU also shot 69.2 percent (9-of-13) from the free-throw line.
