Freshman Quentin Huhman posted 10 kills with a .381 hitting percentage to lead Rockhurst to a 3-0 win over Central State Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.
The Hawks rallied from a 10-4 deficit to take a 14-12 lead in the first set on their way to a 25-20 win. Rockhurst took the second set, 25-18. Leading 24-23 in the third set, the Hawks ended closed out the match at 25-23 on an attack error by Central State.
Nathan Jacques posted 25 assists, four digs, two kills and two blocks. DeRoy led the team with five blocks.
Ryan Collins, Shay Spadaro and Huhman each collected five digs. Spadaro (seven) and Trent Massey (five) combined for 12 kills.
The Hawks finished with 33 kills, four service aces, six team blocks, 31 assists and 31 digs.
Rockhurst (3-4) faces Lindenwood on Friday at 7 p.m. in St. Charles, Missouri.
