Hawks roll to 84-56 win over Prairie Stars

Rockhurst extended its season-high winning streak to four in a row with an 84-56 win over Illinois Springfield Thursday in Springfield, Illinois. The Hawks have also six of their last seven games.

Illinois Springfield held an early 19-12 lead at the 11:12 mark in the first half. Rockhurst finished the first half on a 34-12 run to take a 46-31 halftime lead. Drenin Dinkins (15), Jaylen Wesley (seven), Jack Scott (six) and Dillon Mong (six) tallied 34 of the Hawks' 46 first-half points.

Rockhurst outscored Illinois Springfield 38-25 in the second half. Micah Deaver recorded 14 of his career-high 16 points in the second half.

Dinkins collected a team-high 23 points, five rebounds and two assists. It was Dinkins' 10th game this season with 20 or more points.

Wesley recorded 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and four steals. Mong finished with eight points, four rebounds, and two assists. Scott also notched six rebounds.

Rockhurst shot 48.6 percent (34-of-70) from the floor and 75 percent (6-of-8) from the free-throw line. The Hawks also shot 38.5 percent (10-of-26) from the three-point line.
