Dinkins matches career-high 35 points in 104-65 win

Drenin Dinkins scored 35 points to lead Rockhurst to a 104-65 win over Maryville Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Dinkins tied his career-high in points scored while connecting on 11-of-16 field goals and six-of-nine 3-point shots. He also scored 35 points for Southwest Baptist against Rockhurst last year in Bolivar, Missouri.

The Hawks began the game on a 27-6 run and finished the first half up 54-32. Dinkins (25) and Jaylen Wesley (15) combined for 40 of Rockhurst's 54 points in the first half.

Rockhurst outscored the Saints 50-33 in the second half. Eleven Hawks tallied two or more points in the final 20 minutes.

Wesley finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and three assists in posting his third double-double of the season. Jaden Flournoy recorded 16 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Dinkins added five rebounds.

London Burton finished with eight points. Landon Eiland, Davit Abuladze and Micah Deaver each scored five points.

Rockhurst shot 50 percent (37-of-74) from the field and 41.4 percent (12-of-29) from the three-point line. Rockhurst shot 81.8 percent (18-of-22) from the free-throw line.
