Hawks post 3-0 wins over Bearcats and Aggies

Sarah Pyle posted eight kills, four service aces and 11 digs to lead the Hawks past Northwest Missouri State 3-0 on Friday at the Fort Hays State Tiger Invitational in Hays, Kansas.

After Northwest Missouri State took a 16-11 lead in the first set, Rockhurst used a 14-3 run to win 25-19. The Hawks won the second set 25-14 and the third set, 25-23. 

Alyssa McDonald collected a team-high eight kills. Delaney Hope had five blocks. Molly Trachta had 15 assists and two service aces. Mary Kate Mulvaney finished with nine assists.

The Hawks finished with 30 kills, nine service aces, 10 blocks, 29 assists and 44 digs against the Bearcats.

Earlier Friday, McDonald's 15 kills, Molly Trachta's 20 assists and Pyle's 16 digs led the Hawks to a 3-0 win over Cameron. Rockhurst took the first set 25-18 and the second set 26-24 after closing the set on a 4-2 run. The Hawks went on to win the third set 25-14.

Mulvaney added 12 assists. Pyle had nine kills and Carly Rolf collected nine digs.

The Hawks conclude play at the Fort Hays State Tiger Invitational on Saturday when they take on Arkansas Tech at 11:30 a.m. and Fort Hays State at 7 p.m.
