Hawks drop season opener at home

The Rockhurst men's soccer team opened the 2025 season with a 1-0 loss to 23rd-ranked Fort Hays State Thursday at Bourke Field.

Fort Hays State scored the winning goal less than four minutes in the second half. The Tigers scored off a long throw-in on a shot from eight yards out.

Rockhurst finished with eight shots. Blake Barrick led the Hawks with three shots. Rhys Laws added two shots, both on goal. Stefano Camerlengo posted six saves in his first game at Rockhurst.

The Hawks host William Jewell Saturday at 7 p.m.
