Wayoro leads Hawks to 4-1 win over Jewell

Immanuel Wayoro posted two goals and one assist to lead Rockhurst to a 4-1 victory over William Jewell Saturday night at Bourke Field.

Wayoro gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead with goals in the sixth and 23rd minutes. His first goal came off a rebound of his own shot from 12 yards out. He came back to score on a 10-yard shot off a pass from Sam McIntosh.

McIntosh and freshman Elijah Riese added goals in the second half. McIntosh scored in the 57th minute with assists from Wayoro and Mattia Petricca. Riese knocked in an eight-yard shot off a pass from Blake Barrick in the 87th minute.

Rockhurst finished with 12 shots. Wayoro and Barrick led the Hawks with three shots apiece. Elijah Riese added two shots. Stefano Camerlengo posted two saves for his first win at Rockhurst.

The Hawks (1-1) play at 20th-ranked Rogers State on Thursday afternoon.
