Women open GLVC schedule at Jewell Friday

Sarah Pyle posted 37 kills in her last three matches

Rockhurst Women's Volleyball hits the road for two matches in five days with the first serve for both at 6 p.m. The Hawks begin conference play Friday night against William Jewell in Liberty, Missouri. Rockhurst will travel to Warrensburg, Missouri to face Central Missouri on Tuesday night.

Rockhurst posted a perfect 3-0 mark at the Truman State Tournament last weekend. The Hawks defeated Truman State last Friday and 21st-ranked Missouri Western and Upper Iowa last Saturday. All three wins were in three sets.

Senior outside hitter Sarah Pyle (Offensive) and junior setter Molly Trachta (Setter) earned GLVC/Athletic Solutions Players of the Week honors. Pyle registered 37 kills (4.11/set) and 44.5 points (4.94/set) in nine sets, including a .289 hitting percentage. Trachta tallied 73 assists, 19 digs, four kills and five points.

William Jewell (1-10) went 1-2 at the Truman State Tournament. The Hawks are 24-2 overall against the Cardinals and won in three sets back on Nov. 16 of last year.

Central Missouri (7-2) went 3-0 at the Comfort Inn Invitational. The Jennies hold a 3-2 series lead over Rockhurst since 2010, but the Hawks won the last matchup 3-1 on Sept. 17, 2024.
